Nursery

We are extremely proud of the Nursery provision we are able to offer at Glory Farm Primary School. Our children are happy, enthusiastic and independent. Our Nursery is led by a fully qualified teacher. We have seen the wonderful impact of this for our children this year. High quality provision is planned for weekly, following on-going observations of children’s interests, learning and development in each of the 7 areas of the EYFS Curriculum. Children contribute to the planning process which ensures high levels of engagement in all of the opportunities we provide to learn and grow through play.

Current Topic - I wonder where they live? - Spring Term 3

This term's topic is based around Understanding the World; our children will be focusing on farms, rainforests and different counties. We will be looking at habitats and life cycles that can be found in the different environments. In Maths, our focus will be recognising and counting forwards and backwards to five. To support our learning this term in Literacy, we will be learning about syllables and developing our knowledge of books.

Reminders and Routine
  • Children who come for half a day should be provided with a healthy snack everyday. Children who stay for a whole day may wish to have two healthy snacks. All children will need to be provided with a healthy lunch box.
  • Please ensure all personal items are named.
  • Children should be encouraged to develop their independence by doing as much for themselves as possible. This can include putting on their own coat, changing their shoes, tidying away their belongings and toys and helping their grown-ups at home.
  • To ensure the safety of all children we request that they are wearing appropriate footwear - this means children should be wearing shoes that they can try to put on by themselves.
  • Please provide your child with a named raincoat, spare clothes and a pair of wellies.
  • Please, if you are able, support our 50p pot. This allows us to buy cooking ingredients and food to support our learning, and also to make fresh playdough for the children.
